SO I am working on this film for the song believe by the Trans Siberian orchestra. well it is really pulling me into a place that i did not intend to go. My original thoughts for the video would be to piggy back footage of bad thing, with footage of good things. An example would be guards standing at the Berlin wall and Ronald Reagan giving his speech when he asks Gorbachev to tear down the wall. The whole point was to highlight the song, which really speaks about believing in something. Well I believe that we have the power to change things.
So this belief in change got me to thinking of other really horrible things that have happened, that desperately need to be changed. The Earth is falling apart, the people in Haiti need help, there are children in Africa dying from malaria, and right on our own soil there a thousands of children living in poverty and their parents can't afford to feed them everyday.
This tangent that my mind took is really touching a nerve. I am not drawing these pictures of children completely emaciated and on the verge of death. It is making me want to reach out and hold them, comfort them, give them food. It is sad, the state of the world today. Some people have so much and yet share so little of it. it's really quite sad.
So although my intent with this video is the same, I think it will have more of these types of images in it. I hope when it is finished and placed with this beautiful song, that people will listen and try to make little changes in their lives, for the good of the planet and the people in it.
